Default Factory shock sensor activation

So, I had the dealer throw in the shock sensor for free when I purchased the vehicle. After reading the instructions, and installing the unit, I find that I have to take it to the dealer for them to "flip the switch" to tell the security system that it is attached. For this, the dealer wants $50!! Does anyone know if there is a way for us non-nav owners, to activate it without having to pay the stealership for 2 minutes worth of work?

Dealership is the only one that can activate them
BUT, it sounds to me that they should have activated the sensor when they installed it. You should talk to the manager. sorry to hear you have a crappy dealer... they should have just left the sensor in the cup holder since it's not doing anything...

lol, Yeah, I was a little frustrated that they didn't want to activate it. Since all the parts were ordered in after the purchase of the vehicle I did the installs. They wanted to charge me $100 to install the sensor and activate it. I was like WTF?! You take one trim panel off, plug it in and tighten one bolt, and you want $50 for that?! I'm going to see what my local dealer is going to charge. Maybe I can get them to include it if I bring it in for an oil change?

If you have the factory nav you can turn it on yourself in one of the options.

otherwise take a trip to the dealer.

Yeah, I don't have the factory NAV so I'm SOL unless I can find someone that would let me swap their NAV in real quick. lol I'll probably just end up taking it to the dealer.

Where is it installed? I had installed at the port and can seem to adjust it with the nav...

The physical location? Open the drivers door. Look on the side of the dash, you will see an interior panel. If you take that off you will see the module directly behind the panel.

check out the installation document:

This is crazy, I just had my dealer quote me for 1.5 hours labor $148 plus the cost of the part. It looks like it takes 5 mins to install, plus I have NAV so I can turn it on myself?

How sensitive is the Sensor?

Will it be trigger by the BASS of a passing vehicle like clifford/viper alarms?
