Default Oil Leak

Hello,

Was changing my oil today and noticed an oil leak. See photos:

You can see pretty clear the oil line that is leaking. I've been noticing the connection swell and weep oil for probably the last year and now it has finally started to drip. This is right at the back driver corner of the under tray. In the second photo you can see the hole for the back center under tray bolt.

Going to take it to a shop to fix, but curious if anybody knows what this oil line is and how easy replacement is. It looks easy to get at.

2012 sti @ 137,000 km.

Good timing for this cause my strut mount rubber is all cracked and need to replace them as well.

Thanks

Good eye. I think you are correct. My PS reservoir is at the low line and it definitely was full a few months ago.

Almost wrote last night - though PS, but actualluy couldn't find that hose in any diagrams so stayed quiet. It is right next to the rack. If PS then it is the return line - which I think is one flexible piece and easier to replace. Thats what I was looking for. Not sure why I didn't find it.

ADDED: Just looked at another site. Only see the two hardlines in the PS system, and you can see them in the pic. I recently replace my hardlines too - as one rusted through. Not much rust on the OPs car.

common leak. it usually leaks at the seal between the input shaft and steering rack.

seals are not super expensive from subaru, but you need to pull your rack.
