Thank you for your response! I guess I will have to drop the tranny to check for that

Before doing a clutch is have the transmission inspected. If you have the money it isn't a bad time to have the clutch replaced but a visual inspection will tell you whether it needs to be done.

Lightweight (blue) and Heavy (red). I'd try the lightweight. I haven't used it, but I wouldn't mind trying the AMSOIL either.

Yes.

Thank you! I'll call around and see how much they charge me to have it inspected.

I really appreciate you guy's feedback. I've came up with the following game plan to tackle this issue:

Replace the tranny oil with a lighter weight or a mix of both. (I'll do more research on this).
If everything seems fine - I'll start a GOFUNDME for a new tranny. Just kidding! I'll start a savings for a rebuild and a new clutch/flywheel kit.
If it doesn't work - well... the car does not grind under normal driving conditions, so I'll continue to save and just pray and hope that it will last me a while longer .

I wanted to go ahead and give you guys an update...
The tranny is working fine for now. I went ahead and band-aid the issue with Redline Lightweight Shockproof fluid. I used 2qt of RedLine and 2qt of Amsoil 75W-90. I was so excited to have that noise completely gone! The tranny feels fine now with no issues at all.

I also reached out to AndrewTech in Maryland (Recommended by my suby group) and I was quoted $1320 for labor and $3-500 for part. The only con is that I will have to remove and ship the tranny. My other option is to take a trip to Maryland and have it done there. There is an additional charge for removing and installing the tranny - $660. So my total could vary but the most I will have to pay for this is $2480, not including the cost associated with the trip there and back.

Thank you!
