APS has now upped the ante even further with the release of the D/R 725 front mount intercooler system, specifically designed for very high horsepower Subaru WRX and STI engines.
Unlike other systems that require cutting of structural components at the front of the vehicle, APS has designed the D/R Series FMIC with a truly bolt-on replacement unit that not only maintains the structural integrity of the vehicle, but also forms the perfect mount to accommodate the largest FMIC available for a WRX and STI.

High horsepower levels place enormous loads upon the fuel system - to the point where the stock fuel rails and fuel lines are no longer capable of supplying the injectors with adequate fuel at the correct fuel pressure. This is not only a concern because of the mixture variation from cylinder to cylinder that results, but also because this fuel distribution issue becomes more prominent as the power level increases.
The stock North-South fuel flow configuration however, is an excellent design for the Subaru engine and one that demands further development to satisfy the fuel flow requirements of extreme power engines.
APS has risen to the challenge of delivering the ultimate high performance fuel system - beginning with the awesome APS precision NC machined billet fuel rails.
Huge 7/16 inch internal fuel passages result in extreme fuel flow capacity to each injector - with a significant improvement over stock. In addition, by maintaining a North-South fuel flow configuration, the APS fuel rail solution also solves the distribution problems experienced with after-market Centre-drain designs, where fuel flows past one injector before exiting in the centre of the fuel rail. For fuel to reach the next injector, it must travel down a dead-end passage.
APS fuel rails operate with fresh fuel flow to each and past each injector resulting in the most consistent fuel flow momentum possible to each injector.

The APS High Energy Turbine Inlet (Up) Pipe is a complete bolt-on assembly including 321 stainless steel up-pipe and a truly innovative Double Wall 321 stainless steel flex coupling that incorporates an internal 321 stainless steel Endurance flow tube.

The result is crisp turbocharger response and the highest horsepower possible under all driving conditions and at any engine speed.

An added benefit, the comprehensive heat shielding included with the APS up-pipe keeps harmful radiative thermal loads from the engine bay. The bolt on APS Tumbler Valve Delete Housing is a precision machined aluminium housing that replaces the stock Subaru component (which mounts between the cylinder head and the intake manifold/throttle body assembly) - and dramatically reduces the restriction between the throttle body and the inlet valves at high horsepower levels.
Also included in the APS Tumbler Delete system are two precision manufactured Throttle Position/Servo couplings. These components are mandatory for continued correct operation of the tumble control drive/feedback system. Without these components, the engine management system will detect a tumbler valve malfunction.
With plenty of room to grow your fuel system, this innovative component not only houses the stock WRX or STI injectors, but also has provision for 4 auxiliary Bosch style injectors for high horsepower applications. Unencumbered by the limitations of current off the shelf WRX turbochargers, APS has totally engineered a "no-compromise" turbocharger from the ground up to match the exact requirements of extreme performance Subaru Impreza engines.

APS has utilized extreme flow Ball Bearing Turbochargers, rotated to avoid the restrictive standard intake duct, in its race cars for many years.
The twin scroll design of the APS TSR turbocharger permits separate exhaust gas pulses from each cylinder firing order pair to effectively drive the turbocharger's turbine with the maximum exhaust gas energy possible. This results in quicker turbocharger response and higher horsepower than an equivalent non-twin scroll design.

The APS TSR turbocharger incorporates innovative anti surge ports that effectively broaden the turbocharger compressor's operating range particularly near the surge line of the compressor map. A completely new APS High Flow Cold Air Intake system delivers a huge straight-shot of chilled fresh air directly into the wide compressor mouth of the APS TSR turbocharger.
The APS cold air intake system accommodates stock style MAF metering through the MAF venturi supplied with the APS system. Best of all, for those Subaru horsepower enthusiasts who overwhelm the stock MAF meter at extreme horsepower levels, the MAF venturi is removable and markedly increases the cross sectional area at the MAF metering point. Why Twin Ball Bearing?

Demands for improving acceleration response and for the reduction of so-called turbo lag are popular amongst performance enthusiasts who wish to take advantage of the enormous gains in power and torque delivered by turbochargers. In addition, bullet-proof reliability is required particularly at high turbocharger boost pressure levels as well as at extreme exhaust gas temperatures commonly found in high performance turbocharged engines.
In order to achieve crisp turbocharger response, a number of advances in turbocharger design have been utilized over the past decade. Primarily through the use of modern metals/ceramics in order to reduce the mass of the rotating assembly. However, significant gains have been made by reducing the friction of the rotating assembly - and this has meant a departure from traditional turbocharger designs.
Traditional turbocharger design employs a conventional plain bearing that runs on a film of oil. This is known as a floating metal bush.

APS turbocharger rotating group above is a true twin ball bearing unit that not only delivers huge power and torque, but is also extremely robust and incredibly compact in size.
