I'm hoping for this next weekend. We'll see how it pans out and if the weather holds.

Yeah, it's killing me most I bet though.

Well, if I could stop having shit luck, then yeah.

I just had the hole in the manifold welded shut but unfortunately it scarred the powdercoat, no way around that. So I dropped it off last Wed. before the holiday making it extremely clear I needed it done before this weekend. I will check in tomorrow to see if it has been started.

I would have just run a tap through it and plugged it. That way it can be used at a later time if ever needed.

Got the manifold back yesterday. Using the remaining time from now to Sunday to put everything back on. No more screw-ups, no more delays; I have everything accounted for.

Sunday is the day. Load map, fill fluids, start, bleed, drive, change oil, cross fingers for little to no visible metal particulates.

I wouldn't even worry if there are some chips/flakes in the oil, especially if they look like aluminum. Even with extensive cleaning, some material from machining will be left behind. Copper/gold glitter is bad.

How long do you plan to run on the first oil change?

True I suppose.

Well, IAG recommends a 50 mile rundown, then change oil and filter over to break-in oil for the next 2-3k miles.

Car is done and ready to turn-n-burn, but y'know what? It's snowing and it's been doing so since noon, so no driving tomorrow. If I didn't have shit luck, I'd have no luck at all.
