Congrats Dr3am4sti

Love your enthusiasm

Has anyone with a bit or lots of automotive knowledge inspected this car prior to purchase?

That sound your are depicting almost seems like a tired strut or even maybe wheel bearing...

Maybe even a combination of both

Keep us posted...

Good-luck!

first off! thanks for the congratz! and well wishes!

hmm well no the car wasnt inspected, as you can see my name is Dr3am4sti so when i found my dream car i kind of just went for it, and from what i could see with my own mechanical experience which isnt much i didnt see any major problems lol. you sound wise in saying maybe a ball bearing! and strut is most likely correct as well 66k on the car, stock suspension i could only imagine that would be a familiar problem! I will bring the car in to my mechanic on friday and see what he can diagnos! ill mention that i think it may be what was said! i need to have the breaks dne anyway because i dnt have the time or gear to change the breaks in the driveway anymore, my friend moved out and took all his stuff.. -_- good thing the previous owner gave me a new pair of brake pads for the rear ...also have a question about cambers, and what how i know how my car is cambered to right now, because he gave me an extra set of rear cambers and i have no clue about them, all i know is they change the angle of the wheel and how it sits! thanks again for all of the advice given to me! i love to learn about my cars, this is a big learning experience for me, and I want to know everything about my car!

Okay figured it out, sound was coming from my rear rotors! Took them apart and had about a centimeter of metal gone :/ so I changed them with stock brembo rotors, now I hear a scrapping every time I turn, I gues the rotors just need to work them selves in! Haven't heard the thump sound side the change!

Still going to change the struts and get coilovers because I'm obsessed. So stay tuned for pictures of the exchange!

Also p.s I'm trying to sell a stock 07 Sti trunk unpainted!
