We had an EK hatch doing something similar. It would have some squirrely steering only at certain speeds. Over low speed bumps it sounded like smacking of metal, like the suspension hopping around.

The car was excessively lowered, so when we pulled the wheel off the ball joint was destroyed. The axle had also been torn around the boot causing it to begin to fail.

I know the GD is a different suspension wise, but hopefully you'll be able to find the issue visually or tugging around.

Check your cv joints. I had the same thing, the death shake between 115-135kph. Extreme shaking / vibration only under load

Word association with music or movies is a medical condition of mine so I shan't be held accountable for this:

Maybe that light clunking I've been hearing all this time has been the ball joint afterall. The passenger side boot has been ripped since I did my first clutch in this car, so since the second or third post of my journal I'm surprised it has lasted this long, so it wouldnt surprise me if it's worn and clunking.

This was at the top of my list to check as well, but I figured I would have some other symptoms to go along with it. I don't get any clicking or popping in sharp turns, but I'll definitely still check it out.

The only symptom I had for the longest time was the vibration (about nine months) then one day I had a very light clicking. I replaced the bad cv, no more clicking and best of all no more vibration. It was an inboard cv so it didn't make any noise while turning.

Well I checked everything out under the front of the car, and everything checked out. No play in anything and no loose bolts. Took the highway home last night and the car was as smooth as ever at any speed. I'm thinking some snow from my fender well melted while the car was sitting at work, dripped down on to the tire/wheel and re-froze on the inside of my wheel. Oh well, better than needing an axle or something.

I started up a seperate journal for my two wheeled project https://www.iwsti.com/forums/other-ve...-day-bike.html

Now I just need the warm weather to come so I can get dem flares on

Not much stretch

I only have two mounted so far, because I can't fit all four tires and wheels in my car
