I think the 275 R1R would do well on an STI. narrower versions don't do well for some reason on our heavier cars.

When I had the flares I was going to go with the R1R for my street tire on my 17x10 +38mm's (was also going to run a 20mm spacer).

I second Mickle's sentiment about the XS'. I had been running Z1's before and they were far better. After switching to the XS's I dropped anywhere from 15 to 30 points on my pax score. In my experience they held the corners well, but their braking sucked. That inconsistancy in grip made it difficult for me drive consistantly. It left a bad enough taste in my mouth that I don't think I'd ever try another Kumho for autox.

V710 is worth trying if you ever go R-Comps.

I may as well go with R1R to test them out. Supposedly they are decent in wet conditions as well. If all goes according to my lack of a plan, I'll only need them for wet conditions anyway

Soon to be an rpf1-less home

If only they would make an 18x11 +5 or something. Group buy anyone?

P.S. when did you have flares and why are they not on your car?!

They wont do a group buy for a mold they don't have. They'll do group buys for different bolt patterns and colors.

18x11 +5mm is too low if you even plan on running 315s

18x11 +18mm works great with 315s on Karlton Flare equipped cars.

I really like the 18x10.5 +15mm and a 295/30/18 A6 for AutoX.

Remember, lower offset means further from the cones, which means longer distances. When each 1" closer to a cone in a slalom can count as much as .1 of a second PER CONE!! The grip you're getting better increase the speed enough to offset the further distance.

I had one of the first sets of 05 flares, the guy I sold them to still hasn't installed them. I may buy them back.

Main reason I didn't do it is $$ for install, $$ for wheels (x2 sets), $$ for tires (x2 sets) it didn't fit in with the mod budget.

I "needed" seats, I knew the rear diff was dying and I had a list of supporting power mods going on.

I also wasn't ready for R-Comps, I think I'm getting there now though. May have to snag some 255/40/17 R1S's for my 17x9.5 NT03+Ms I've got laying around.

This is a long reply for such a small question.
