Default Cobb AP Stage 1 -> Stage 2 stupid question

Hello,

I have a question about going from Stage 1 to Stage 2. Is it necessary to reflash the base map from Stage 1 to Stage 2, or is it sufficient to just switch realtime map to Stage 2 (while keeping base map at Stage 1)?

I thought switching real time map was sufficient but I found map notes and it advises to change the base map to take full advantage. Any opinions?
