Default Do you need a tune for a cold air?

Hey im looking at getting the cobb sf intake with the box which makes it into a cold air from my understanding, i heard that cold air intakes are dangerous for the turbos and blow them. Do i need to get a tune? or should i just stay with doing the ram air intake?

Cobb should have a premade map for the AP designed for the intake. But, yes you need a tune to run the intake properly.

Cold air intakes don't blow turbos, not tuning for mods might cause your engine some discomfort. Search bro.

That intake would not be considered a true cold air intake because it still pulls air from inside the engine bay. A real CAI comes out into the fenderwell and pulls air from the outside. I think the cobb sf intake with box is compatable with their ots maps, but you should contact them to be sure (could depend on your year).

cold or short, the goes consensus is you should get a tune no matter which you decide to go with.
