Switched ECU and tuned and runs perfect, tuner says the 07 ECU's have issues because they run more the one throttle maps. Some reason my car has 3 throttle maps when my car is 07, says this is something that is on the 08 pluses with the SI drive! Ever seen this with 07 STI's Paul? Thanks.......
There are only 2 E85 stations in the greater LA Metro area... so unless you are moving to Brentwood or Arcadia, or reasonably close to either of those cities and work close by, then E85 is not a practical fuel for most people in SoCal. Getting your car to run well on the stock ECU is no problem at all. Your erratic idle almost certainly had nothing at all to do with the throttle maps on the 07 ECU. One is a cruise map and the other is an accel map. There is no switching or interpolation between the maps at idle. It probably had to do with your intake either providing relatively unstable airflow to the MAF or your previous tuner being unable to properly scale the MAF. Obviously with the Link being speed density based, that ceased to be an issue. Or your tuner didn't know how to properly adjust the post-start enrichment tables.

If your car is a daily driven car running a turbo that doesn't look like to belongs on a Freightliner the stock ECU is usually a better option than a standalone.

Thanks Paul, think I going to run pump gas and Aquamist kit and return the car back to stock ECU! What kit would you get Aquamist HFS 3 or HFS 6? Also what meth tank would you recommend? Shop that does work now says to use stock TMIC tank or use Spec C tank! My car is 07 with 4,215 miles, I don't drive her much.......

I'd get the HFS 6 and just use the stock TMIC spray tank as the reservoir. It's plenty big enough for most folks needs and it's already there .

From what I understand there are actually a higher than national average number of vehicles in CA that require "premium" fuel. Since what you can refine out of a barrel of crude oil is in a sense fixed, the only way to satisfy the demand for the more "premium" fuel was to basically water it down. Add in the clean air regs and you end up with the goat piss 91 octane that we get from the pumps here.

I just got my 2011 STI tuned by Yimi yesterday. It took me about 1.5 hours to get there due to the horrible LA traffic but when I got there it was all worth it. Everyone was really friendly and gave me honest feedback about the choices I made with my car while respecting my goals for my STI. They went to work right away and installed my DP and 3-port BCS, then had my car on the dyno for about 3 hours and even took it out on the road and did some pulls for another 30 minutes. Some other protuners gave me some advice and told me to becareful for shops that tune very aggressively just to put out high numbers for bragging rights. Paul was very cooperative and gave me a conservative tune like I asked. I love the power my car is making and it is pulling much smoother and stronger. Unfortunately there was a lot of traffic on the way home so I couldn't really open up the throttle but I did do some spirited driving later that night. I have never enjoyed driving any car as much as my current STI with Yimi's tune. I would definitely recommend my friends to go to Yimi Sport.

Does Yimi Sport have port and polishing services? Anyone have experience with them in that regard (headers)?

Thanks!
