also if it is just a catback and you can't do the install yourself (saves you money) then just let them do it, won't harm the engine at all, break-in or not.

Default 2014 STi Tsuguri Blown engine 10,000km

Thanks for the info, i'm dealing with a guy named Richard at technical service and he's cool, no prob so far. I will probably have them install my new EVO3 before the car comes out... although i'm pretty good with my hands i'm not much of a mechanic. Any idea how much i could sell an OEM catback with 10,000kms ?

Not sure how much for an OEM catback, maybe $200-300 tops. Not a huge demand except people who need to return car to stock I'll keep mine to go back to stock when I get an exhaust.

I would do the install your self if they want to charge you for it. But considering that you are going through this hassle you should see if they will do it for free. Most shops will.

Why would they do it for free? they are already getting his engine etc. all handled and replaced for free under warranty, why would they agree to install aftermarket parts for free, if it is costing them labor? doesn't make any sense.

I might run it by them as the guy is pretty cool, but maybe with a slightly comical tone...not sure they would agree either but hey you gotta try to know.

those guys are cool, we talk cars all the time when they aren't too busy with customers. They know what's up.

Can you pros give me an approx idea of how much i should expect to pay to have a Greddy EVO3 catback installed on my STi 2014 sedan ? Most likely the dealership will do it unless they charge too much then i have an other contact. I can't compare with anything as I've never had this kind of work done.

if you supply the parts, they will just charge you the time. They have a specific rate per hour, I think nowadays it ranges anywhere from $70-100 per hour, hopefully for you the install won't cost you more than $100-150. They just take the hours that the mechanic put down and multiply it by that rate. I would be surprised if the mechanic took more than an hour to remove the stock exhaust that is less than 1 year old and bolt the new one on.
