There was a thread like this in another forum I was a part of and so I thought I would start it here.

Post up anything you did to your STI today (or recently for that matter). Yet another way to boast about our beloved STI's!

I'll start...

I hardwired my Escort Radar Detector and got my windows tinted, Limo in the back and 20 (or 80, whichever is darker) up front.

Yesterday after work i installed the kartboy front and rear shifter bushings. I decided to keep my stock oem shifter, im not a fan of short throw shifters. Considering its just bushings, im actually pretty impressed with how much it actually changed the shifting feel. Its like shifting with authority! All in all it took me about 40 mins to do just taking my time. One thing i will say is that the transmission noise from the rear shifter bushing is very noticeable. It kind of sounds like a windding up kind of noise. With the windows down i can hear it at low speeds accelerating in low gears and thats with a 3inch catless turbo back exhaust. Once i get into 4th gear i cant hear the noise any more anyways. With the windows up well, its loud and noticeable all the time. For the most part i dont mind the noise for now, its actually kind of race car cool lol. The only thing i dont like is that you can actually hear this transmission noise at idle. At idle it sounds like a gurgling rotational sound. Other than that, i think its a great mod for any sti. This should be one of the first mods to any GR/GV STI.

Changed a flat during twilight while at work last night. Wasn't a nail...tire was worn down to the threads at the inner-most portion of the treads...couldn't see the damage until I removed the wheel.

Then, on the way home, while driving on the spare, the rear diff overheat warning came on (fortunately, I was a block away from the house). You'd think it wouldn't do that on a 20 mile drive on an OEM spare while doing 50 MPH. Rear diff was hiccuping the whole way home too.

Ordered new tires...first new set since I bought the car in 2011.

Is anyone using a full sized wheel as a spare?

I have been experiencing some pretty serious over boosting on my sti this winter. I was under the suspicion on a leak or faulty component somewhere. I went ahead and ordered a ECBS two weeks ago and i finally got around to looking into this issue last night. If found that some of the zip ties from my ECBS blew off. All the vacuum lines had oil in them. The vacuum line from the ECBS to the turbo compressor nipple was so swollen that i was able to push it off with my finger tip. I also found the vacuum line going to my EWG was partly melted LoL. None the less, i replace all the vacuum lines with some heavy duty thick 4mm lines i got from amazon. I also went ahead and replaced the ECBS since it had oil in it too. I smoke tested the engine and turbo inlet. Thankfully no leaks from the turbo inlet. Upon further inspection i found the clamp from my intercooler to the turbo was cocked. It looks like that $380 red sti intercooler elbow has seen better days for sure. I repositioned the clamped best i could without removing the intercooler. I moved onto checking the EWG by manually checking it with my hand vacuum pump and borescope. After some further research of how tial EWG's work, i have concluded my EWG is good and operating as designed. So after all of that i was pretty confident i found the problem so i took the car out for a ride. Im back to pushing a healthy 20psi and spitting flames!

I decided to try AVO post maf intake elbow (I am just itching for mod, so why not).

The claim: increased in interior from 70mm to 80mm for greater than 10% better airflow and sizable increase of 8 CFM over factory.

The only part I don't like is the pipe did not have provision for the notch on OEM airbox. So I had to carefuly cut it to size or else is not going to fit properly for good seal.

And damn it does work. Datalog shows increased in MAF G/S from 296 g/s to 300 g/s, and reduced time by 0.5 seconds for 3rd gear pull from 2000rpm to 7200rpm.

Learning something new everyday I guess.

Installed AVO's latest rear endlink.

Ball joint for swaybar arm side and sealed pillowball that (I'm told) allows 30 degrees articulations for arms side.

Max short on the left

Maybe two to three turns higher from max short on the right.

Unfortunately the endlink cannot reach the soft settings. Bummer.

Fortunately - it fits way better than WL KLC182 when combined with Superpro swaybar as it allows me to position the Superpro's swaybar arm at a more parallel to the arm by having the AVO endlink at its max short position.

The effect of using this endlink is quite surprising. Its comfier vs the Whiteline. Maybe because of the pillowball joint and having the swaybar arm angle at a more accurate angle are what made the rear feels more comfortable than using WL endlink at the same middle position (with WL, the swaybar arm needs to go up or else the balljoint won't line up with the hole on the swaybar).

Hi all, new member here with 2010 STi.

Had a 2015 steering rack installed as mine was leaking all over the place. New rack feels great; heavier steering provides more feedback and the shorter ratio feels more direct. Highly recommend if yours is going out.

Will be swapping out my Gramlight 57cr for my winter setup soon.

Installed the Grimmspeed Turbo Heat Shield V2. Went with the black ceramic coating and reflect-a-gold foil options as well. Installation was a breeze since I opted to remove the TMIC [emoji38]

We’ll see if my intake temps are affected at all. It at least looks better than the chopped up stock shield that I had before.
