I currently have a base 2018 STI with the dual climate zone and back up camera. Does anyone know if the base 2019 radio unit fit in the 2018? Attempting to retain the stock look and obtain Apple Car Play. There is a Subaru dealer in NJ who is offering the upgrade to older 2018 WRX's, just looking to see if anyone has attempted this.
I wanted CarPlay and improved sound so I went with a Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX. It looks close to stock, but not exactly like OEM. You'll get way more for your money going this route.

I noticed that in your picture of your Pioneer Head Unit, you also have a mount that holds a Scosche Magnet. Did you buy that mount somewhere by chance, or did you make the mount yourself?
I also was looking for apple CarPlay with OEM radio.. Some research that I’ve done points to the harness being different. It would be great if one of the tech gurus can figure something out.
Did you contact ae64.com I think they can come up with a harness that is compatible with the 18' sti, like caschnd1 said the Pioneer is much better than the factory, I have an AVH-4100NEX installed in my 15', Apple Car Play and Bluetooth connects every time.
I have the AVH-4200NEX and it has been very good. I believe the newer version connects wirelessly to apple car play and Anroid Auto. I'd recommend it over any stock Subaru navigation.
Thank you for that contact. I’ll send him an email and she what they have.
