I wouldn't worry about degrees and not. The Corsa has nearly a 90 degree as well leading into the right side.

Point being, and I think we both agree, dual exhaust suck on these cars.

Get a single.
Been thinking more about this and I think you're onto something. Not many options for a single exit for these cars unfortunately. Either mellon launchers, or the Q300 single, which for some stupid reason comes with a single giant tip instead of dual tips.

Ya, the Q300 is the only one that makes sense rightnow. But you could always put whatever muffler you want on if you don't like the sound or look.

It's really a shame that a previous GR or GD exhaust doesn't fit. Otherwise, there would many many options, at really afforable prices. Or maybe it does fit, anyone try?

Seems the exhaust has to exit the right side for some reason ton these cars.

Tomei exits left side... it's a really nice exhaust but it's loud. If I could have something just like it but half as loud I'd be happy. If I was to change anything I'd either put a new muffler on it or sell it for a Q300 single and possibly replace the Q300 muffler with something else.

Anyways, the shape of the Y or T does matter a lot, it's the discontinuity that causes the resonance and is the reason the "dual exhaust" has these issues. Corsa and others use Helmholtz or other resonators designed to eliminate the bassy drone sound so in their case the shape of the split doesn't matter as much.

HKS Legamax Premium has an interesring resonator setup. Might be worth consideration.

I emailed Maddad last week to see if they have any plans of doing the Whisper exhaust for our cars. Got a reply saying yes, but not until summer of 2018. So thats probably worth waiting for if you want a quiet exhaust.

You could defintely chop it off and put a new muffler. Is the Tomei the same exaust they sold for the GR and GD, or is it 15 spefcific, like that Q300 is?

The Corsa still has that drone tone a tad b/c of the dual, but less than other exhaust out on the market, but that is not bc of the resonaotr, it's the muffler design. But do what I do, and block off the other side in the y pipe, but welding it shut. So it's the look of the dual.

I disagree. It's deep, and that is what is annoying. Might not be loud, but it is the low frequencies. On ELH, it sounds ok though, but not that great of a tone.

2016 STI killer B elh Invidia catted downpipe Xforce Varex cat back - YouTube

Figured I'd share my setup as i had a similar goal. With the varex fully open it's hardly loud. I'd say a little louder than a stock setup with the spt.

FWIW stock catback is good up to almost 400 whp (dynojet), costs ~10-15 whp.

With an EWG, you can get away with higher power levels before the stock catback becomes a restriction.
