Car waiting to be driven home 110 miles back to Albany

The first 24 hour of ownership!

After 1 month and 3,000 miles. I installed the Corsa Exhaust and Rally Armor Mudflaps, Cobb Stage 1 flashed.

Fast forward 2 months later. Flex Fuel kit was ordered along with Perrin Equal Length headers that I wrapped in DEI exhaust tape. Car made 337/367wtq

Installed Airlift Suspension and rolled/pulled rear fenders along with a slight pull on the front fender. I am one of the weird people to run an air suspension setup with meaty tires

August 2016- I purchased a 2000 Subaru RS that had an STI drivetrain installed. I pulled the hybrid SOHC turbo setup out of it and replaced it with an EJ207 V7 engine (project completed January 2017) Crappy iPhone Pano

October 2016- The engine let go after 20k miles on my way to work. Very weird feeling... Driving up to the last stop sign before the parking lot, the engine made a slight shudder on the stop and it began idling rough and my vacuum gauge on the cobb read -8.30 where it usually reads -9.9. I parked the car and opened the oil fill cap to find white puffs of smoke. I knew exactly what it was. I drove the car for an additional 3 days after this event until I saw one huge feedback knock of -7.7 on light cruising. Car remained parked until I decided what I wanted to do.

One week later... I made one of the most expensive phone calls ever
I spoke with Keith at IAG. The conversation started with lets get the car fixed and just back on the rode. After a week of ironing out all the details. The simple "lets slap a forge built block and upgrade some fueling mods" turned out to be a 600whp build. IAG was very busy at the time so my drop off date was December 22nd. Christmas present

February 4th, 2017- Car was picked up and begin the long journey of 3,000 mile break in.
I drove the car home ~360 miles back to Albany and hated the 1 hour of traffic I got stuck in. Breaking in a brand new engine along with the 6 puck clutch was quite embarrassing!

Feb 16th, 2017- FP black turbo arrived after being backordered. The install for this was quite frustrating. See details below.
- The 84mm is massive trying to get it fit between the manifold/tgv delete.
- The clamp provided by FP was too small diameter wise to provide a tight clamp. ( reordered a new larger 4" zebra clamp that is half the width of the regular breeze clamp provided)
- The TGV delete was pushing on the inlet in a spot I did not like, so I purchased an 8mm phenolic spacer to raise TGV delete torwards the center of the inlet. The spacer also made the manifold much cooler also. I was never a believer of this until I was able to put my hand on the manifold after a long drive.
- I had to grind a nut down to be able to get it to screw onto the turbo bolt because the turbo hotside housing wasn't milled down enough to fit.

Next was to install the Fathouse Fab 4" FMIC with Tial Q BOV- This was less frustrating.
There is a mild modifications needed to the bumper. In my case I had to do some additional modification to the fog light bezel as I could not get the pipe to clear no matter what I did.

I plan on redoing my hack job on the bezel ( $12 dollars for a new one but it works )

Everything was back together and I completed 1,500 long and uneventful miles. Per some suggestions. I scheduled the car for a dyno tune to help give the pistons a good seat!
March 6th, 2017- The man JrTuned blessed the car! - Dyno graph in the first post. Car also made 464whp/397wtq on 93

Following the dyno session. I did another 1,500 long and uneventful miles on the break in oil. Finally 3,000 break in miles completed and I completed the oil change with Motul X-cess 5w40 synthetic oil.

Groceries aren't a problem either!

Thanks! I always get a laugh out of the plates! The car is a blast to drive, the boost comes on very fast and pulls like a freight train to about 130. I had a co-worker in the car car and his response was " holy sh**" I was not expecting that.

Build was done in-house by IAG and tuned by JR.

What size injectors are you runnin? I just dropped in a blouch turbo with 1000cc injectors and a 255 pump... for some reason I'm getting around 10-12. It's kinda frustrating! Maybe you could offer me some advice. Thanks in advance
