Default GT35R but rough Idle

Hello All,

I managed to get the gt35r kit in with the following:

perrin fuel rails
pe 850cc injectors
fuel pump
tial 44mm wg
greddy typre r bov
hydra ems

Now, when I start the car, i get a rough idle (very rough where you can feel the car shake) and a lot of popping. If I give it a little gas the throttle kinda chokes and some more popping. I checked the plugs for the coil packs and they are plugged in. I don't know what else I should be looking out for...any suggestions?

this is the perrin setup

Are the injectors scaled properly? until you get a good tune i would expect it to run crappy.

you seriously need to get it tuned by an experienced person asap.. becareful. if you dont know what you are doing, as far as tuning the hydra, then you probably shouldnt drive the car until you have some sort of base map at least.. i would contact element tuning for a base map..

Phil provided us with a base map for this setup. He mentioned that I should be able to drive the car just fine with this map to get it to a tuner. I can't even give it throttle without it feeling like its going to die

Are you running the Hydra with the MAF still installed or are you running it in Speed Density? If you are still using the MAF make sure its atleast 18" away from the inlet of the turbo. The GT35R at idle disrupts the air alot in front of the turbo inlet. If your running it in speed density mode the double check your vacumm line to the Hydra and make sure its on a dedicated vacuum circuit to the intake manifold.

Usually people get the Wideband option with their Hydra, which is the way to go if you have a GT35R. If this is the case, I believe the MAF is only used to read intake temperature.

Even though the map should work good, the map does include idle tuning. When I first had my motor swapped, I noticed a bad idle too. Once I got the system custom tuned, no idle issues. Give Phil a call, he should be able to help you out.
