Default PST carbon driveshaft rubbing?

Last Saturday, i installed a PST carbon driveshaft that i bough from Rallysport direct on their labor day special.

The installation was done on my 2012 STI stage2. It went smooth and the driving feel mirrors what other members already expressed.

BUT, for no apparent reasons, in the first 4 days of driving with the new driveshaft, i experienced, about 3 or 4 times, a strange noise only when turning to the right from a dead stop and when the power train was cold.

I though at first it was something rubbing below my foot. So having my car raised to apply my anual rustproofing schedule, i checked briefly if i could see something and to my surprise, i saw 2 marks, 2 inches apart, on the carbon close the rear differential.

Tomorrow i'm gonna put my car on ramps to take some pictures. But I am surprised and also somehow frustrated by this cause i never heard of such a thing happening on PST driveshaft. I already knew the stock rear differential bushings where pretty soft, so i took care not to launch the car hard by the time i received the superpro rear diff bushing.

As anybody here had experienced the same issues?

I haven't noticed anything even remotely close to hitting my carbon shaft. But I upgraded all the bushings about 3 weeks after I bought the car...

Try rotating the shaft 90 on the read diff flange. Contact PST if that doesn't work. We ran into a similar issue, but not until +140mph. Their customer service is great, so if there is any issue they will fix it.

So i just got back from a investigation under the car and, well, it's much less a problem than i though it would.

It Just the rear differential heat shield that was slightly rubbing on the carbon drive shaft.

So, there is no need to unbolt the driveshaft for a 90 degree turn of the rear differential. I took a pitch bar to somehow push the 2 heat shield rubbing contact just to make sure it will not rub anymore.

BUT, i'm not sure what to do with the 2 surface marks on the carbon. I will email PST for this aesthetic issue, if ever it is.

I would at the very least run some Lacquer over it. Even if it's just clear nail polish... Keep it sealed...keep it from fraying on those places...
