This is the first thread which made me realise how a shop can kick itself out of a whole board or even community. I aswell exspected someone to jump as soon as I read their name.

This should be a warning sign and a reminder to think twice about your actions (both sides).

I will say this once.

Maybe we could keep whatever happened to someone else out of this thread. I have known Julien for about 10 yrs. He has always been fair and knowledgeable and upfront. After looking at what happened I feel that I wish not to be involved, as there are always two sides to every story, and at the end of the day he has a business to run.

He gave me the products that I wanted, the info that I needed, and all in a timely matter (my block is already ready and my oil pump and clutch and flywheel are ready for shipment as well).

I will report back with exactly what happened to my stock block, and I will also provide info as to how my new block performs on the street and track.

Thanks

So here are the pics of the carnage. Interesting that the big chunk of the piston is nowhere to be found. We looked in the DP before the HFC, nothing. Turbine and turbine housing all look fine.

My theory (and just a theory):
-piston broke, I heard it bang a few times but then stopped, at this point the piece is stuck to the top of the piston, and squashed somewhat
-car drives fine for another day or so
-then noise is there again (piece moved, broke slightly) and bent in the spark-plug
-change spark plug (that was when compression was good) and car runs fine
-then a few days later piece comes loose again and causes the carnage

I ordered a new cylinder head and 4 new valves. Everything else on the motor looks fine, most thankfully all the bearings and everything the oil touches.

Don't be saying that...once I put on my Killer B I should be pushing close to that on E85 conservatively.....well, here comes a built engine then..

The piston could have come apart in multiple fragments over time once that initial big crack happened. The cast pistons can, "crumble" more than a forged piston because of how hard/brittle they are.

And the little pieces slowly worked there out the exhaust without damaging anything? Could happen. Just seems odd.
