Default down pipe heat shield?

i'm about to install my cobb downpipe and finally decided to take a peek underneath my car and notice that there is a heat shield covering the whole down pipe all the way to the exhaust or at least i think its like a heat shield. Am i suppose to install those back onto the new cobb dp?

I hope this makes sense? i drive a 06 sti.

the cobb will fit with the stock cat back. The "heat shielding" that goes all the way down the stock downpipe is just part of the stock downpipe and i dont even know if it comes off or not. The turbo heat shield that wraps around the turbo and has a x with a hand probably wont fit around the cobb downpipe and you either need to trim it with some metal shears or buy the cobb turbo heat shield.

make sure you heat cycle the bolts on the downpipe then re-tighten them again. Notice i didnt say re torque them cuz if u can get a torque wrench in there then you're amazing

Another option is to use a dremel with a metal cutting blade. Took me about 10 minutes to cut the stock heat shield to fit correctly. I can't imagine cutting it with shears
