| Amateur STI Driver | Got mine yesterday in HPS, 18x8. The best description of the finish is BBS Plasma, which is offered on the CH. The wheels are beautiful and super lightweight. GREAT VENDOR! Here is a pic, hopefully it catches the finish. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

I don’t have a 17x8 here in my shop but a 18x8 shipping weight right at 20.5. I will get it on a scale tomorrow and see for sure. I would appreciate folks not talking about or referring to other non paying vendors on this thread. Also even though they ship from the same warehouse that doesn’t mean they have the ability to choose from the same stock. My stock is reserved and ordered specifically for rallypartsexpress.com Another thing to consider is if you pair the wheels with the right tires you can still achieve your weight goals. For instance Michelin tires in 18 inch 205 40 18 weigh 6 pounds heavier each than the same size in the Pirreli P Nero Zero Rossi. The point is most folks only look at the wheel weight. For the compromise of cost vs forged you wont find a better set of wheels. Thanks Last edited by Madness; 01-28-2007 at 01:38 AM.

It's just that I find another vendor and ask them what the weight of the wheel is and all I get is No reply, aprox., from, about, almost, and so on. All I'm asking is a true weight, so all you need to say is I will get it or it's --.-! Remember I'm trying to buy something I have never seen in person. I did ask you 2 times before in post on this thread (go back and look) and in almost all of my PM's to you! I also asked about center caps and no reply there also.Sorry but I never got an answer and when the one vendor that did give me an answer he told me not on his scale. He was also trying to push another brand of wheel so I guess I need to take that into account. Also this wheel is made in the UK and the last time I got something made in the UK it was a POS 06 Mini Cooper S. Thank God there's lemon laws in the states. Heres what another person asked. "define "super lightweight" with a # please." Still no #. Oh, I PMed 2 of your other customers who bought wheels and asked them questions and I got no reply from them. Hmmm. Again I'm Sorry, MM Last edited by Mini Meg; 01-28-2007 at 07:55 PM.

I weighed one of these on the same bathroom scale as a oem bbs wheel, the bbs showed right around 19# and the TDR were a little over 18#. I weighed them a few times with the same results. Take that all with a grain of salt. The BBS weights have been verified around 19# for the 17x8, so my cheap scale is accurate enough for me. When I was making a wheel decision I tried not to get hung up on the weight of the wheel itself, more of the entire package as the vendor stated. Even though these wheels aren't as light as the SSR's I was looking at, they are a bit lighter than stock and I'm going to run RE050A PP's which are 2# lighter than the 070's. That is still saving weight (even if they weighed more than the BBS). Keep in mind that if you focus on finding lighter tires you will be doing more for performance since that mass is further away from the center of rotation. If there was a 5# difference in wheel weights, then I'd look at it more, but for 1-2# I didn't feel it was worth the extra $ to go with something in the middle of a rays/prodrive and a oem bbs. Regardless, it would be tough to tell the difference between a 19# wheel and a 20# wheel.
