The aluminum ones take me so much longer to do, that's why I have not offered them in a GB. Didn't you purchase a knob from me already? If so, I can give you a good discount as a return buyer! Plus, I also live in NNJ, so we can meet up and save on the shipping/paypal fees.

i was going to, i was undecided about the piston, or the sphere. im leaning towards the aluminum sphere. i just love the feel and look. my dad lives in nnj and im up there once in a while so i have no problem meeting to save on shipping. plus, its always fun meeting new sti guys lol.

Yes, this knob is heavier than the 2004,2005 STi knob. The stock one for those years = 69 grams.
My shift knob weighs 105 grams, so you gain about 35% more weight.

The 2006,2007 STi knobs weigh around 190grams though. So for these years, the advantages of my shift knob is that it will sit lower on the lever, it has brass threads (much stronger than the stock plastic ones), and it just looks cool The 04/05 STis also gain the extra weight.
