Normally I do not like to take back returned items since I ship them out in 100% perfect condition and I get the short end of the stick if something happens when in the customer's possession or on the return trip back. (This refers to any acceptable products of course.) Also, the paypal fee and shipping costs are included in your purchase price, so I cannot offer you everything back for what you paid.
The easiest way for me is to simply sell you another knob (FOR A DISCOUNT) since you would be a return buyer. All my returning buyers get an added discount. See if you can sell it on your own first.

The 2.25" knob does weigh more than the 2" knob. About 140grams versus 105 grams, but this thing is pretty big, so it's definetely not going to be for everyone in terms of comfort and feel. Right now, I do not have another way to add weight, but I am considering using a different material for the inserts. Have not found anything good yet.

Let me know what you would like to do.

Different metals thought of for inserts:

Density(kg/m^3) - Material - Note

~2600 aluminum 6061 (Far too light)
~8400 Brass alloy 360 (Currently using)
~8700 Bronze (slightly more)
~8900 Copper (slightly more)
~20,000 Gold (ummmmm)
~11,300 Lead (poisonous)
~20,000 Plutonium ()
~8000 Stainless Steel (about same as brass)

there aren't too many heavier choices that are affordable and easy to machine

My stock 07 knob weighs 198g.

For reference, on my scale, my brand new white 2" delrin/brass knob weighs 104.5

Ok, so the stock one is fairly heavy. Any idea what is inside to add that weight?

Last night I completed the two WRX Spheres with brass, so they will ship today.
The 2" WRX knob came in at 145g,
the 2.25" WRX knob weighed 185g.

Got mine today, looks and feels good, excellent machine work. I wish it were heavier though.
WC Lathe let us know if you can make a heavier knob, I will certainly buy another.

Ill let you know if I come up with a heavier design, but right now the amount of brass is maximized... so the only real way would be to use a solid metal knob, but those are so hot/cold in the weather, it defeats the awesomeness of copolymer

Installed mine yesterday. Love it with the short shifter. Been trying to think of an easy way to get a STi logo put on the top of it if I give it a flat surface.

Awesome job Chris. I'll be waiting to see what you come up with after you've sated all of our shift knob desires.

For a heavier knob, maybe a brass knob cut a little small with a 2 piece copolymer cover (top and bottom). But I dunno how to attach the 3 pieces and make it strong/solid enough to not break under rough use.

Anyways, can't wait for my shift knob to get here.

I first tried using expoxy/superglue to hold a two-piece design together. The brass broke loose from the copolymer after a little while of use so Ill never use this method again. These knobs are now all screwed together with a coarse thread on the outside of the brass cutting itself into the copolymer so it'll never come loose unless you REALLY want it to. You'd probably have to destroy the knob to get them apart
