Huh? Where can you buy racing methanol for $3 a gallon? A 5 gallon jug of racing methanol (99.8% pure) now costs me $31.75 directly from the local supplier and it's $6 a gallon at my local kart track.

Check out local yamaha dealerships or other motorsports dealerships. I know you can get good deals on bulk amounts. Also, call VP Fuels to get contact info for your local area.

Check nasioc.com in the methanol forum FAQ for local dealers.

I talked to VP Fuels, and they said that a 5 gallon can of Meth goes for about under $60 bucks.....so who knows...all I do know is...I will have the good ole' Cobb AP to switch to my NONE Meth Map during the winter times....when I feel I won't punch it hard....or whenever....that way, if I am runnig low on meth, switch the map and tada!

VP fuels methanol runs between $5-6 a gallon and denatured alky runs $10-12 a gallon.

Pretty much matches my experience, but I've seen meth as high as $15 a gallon if you don't shop around. Trouble is, not even a lot of karts (and virtually nothing else other than drag/CART cars) use it anymore so finding a source that doesn't involve "hazardous material" transportation costs can be problematic for a some folks. Also, having a 55 gallon drum of the stuff sitting in the garage is not a viable alternative for a lot of guys - at least it isn't for me.

Jeez, $3 a gallon...sign me up.

This is how mine is setup. I have a TopSpeed tune w/o meth and with meth (50/50). Good stuff.
