Default Augamist Meth Kit with vf39

Well first off i have a 04 sti with 40k miles on it. it has the basic stage 2 setup. cobb turbo back with ap2 ots map. What i realy want is a quick street car. I want my engine compartment to look pretty much stock. I was thinking of doing a 20g with the stock intake. i know i would need injectors to do this. i spoke with harman motive and they suggested if i wanted to use my stock intake and to mount that they would suggest using a 50/50 mixture of meth and water. they said it would be much more cost effective and it would be a funner car to drive. this would also keep my engine compartment to look the same. (the meth lines would not be visable) tap into under the intercooler. they suggested the aguamist kit and all i would need extra is a fuel pump. they also said it is a safe tune and very reliable. They have done quite a few cars with this meth set up. i will have 2 maps, one being a protuned 91 octane and the other would be a protuned 91 octane with meth. the meth mao would be not ran everyday but only when i want to mess around. does anyone have any thoughts or a any suggestions.

I would do it if I were you...Meth rocks and is safe if the tune is right.

Which aquamist kit are they suggesting that you use? I would suggest the HSF-5. It works by tapping into a signal off of the injector duty cycle as opposed to reading boost pressure, which leads to a much more accurate amount of meth/water being injected. I would also run 100% meth and just mount the tank and pump in the trunk. Make sure they hook up the failsafe and make sure they test it. I think you will also want to upgrade your boost solenoid, and you will most likely max out your MAF sensor using the stock airbox. If this is the case then you will be holding back additional power that you could be making. You may not have any choice but to upgrade to a bigmaf, unless of course your happy with holding back on the reigns.... 91 octane plus meth is easily good for over 400whp and more than 26psi on a 20G. Meth burns a lot cooler in the cylinder and allows a tuner the ability to run more boost and timing. I'm running 91 plus 100% meth with my Evo FP Green. I'm boost 30psi with an AFR of 12.0:1 and I'm getting no knock. I could have even boosted more if I wanted to spray more meth, but I decided to stop there. Good luck with you setup. Injection can be a good thing or a bad thing. Its really up to how good of a tune you get, and how good of a kit you get as well. I would suggest you get an AFR gauge and start learning how to datalog. Here is a link to my setup and a link to the evom water / alcohol injection threads. I know its an evo, but hey I was once and STI owner too. I've learned a lot more about water / alcohol injection on evom than I've ever learned on here. Plus if you have an questions about the aquamist kits, there is a person from aquamist that is very active on the evo forums. Just hit up Richard L. Their customer support is second to none. I was needing some help trouble shooting my install and he called me from england at midnight their time to help me over the phone!!

HSF-5 is def. the way to go . Most likely the best kit on the market.

I daily drive meth and love it.

2 years and about 20 gallons of 50/50 mix over the course of maybe 30k miles.

Protune vs protune with meth.

do it!

I'm going to be tuned soon with a stock turbo and meth. I think its a great idea. How I see it if I would buy a smaller turbo and use that I may go bigger later and would have to sell that turbo. You can always use the meth no matter what turbo setup you have. So I would protune with meth see how you like it and plan accordingly. Also with meth you won't have to upgrade injectors at that time so there really is a big savings. If you have 91 craptane then this should be a no brainer since the gains over strait gas are even bigger.

Also a big bonus to water/alcohol is that you get consistent power year round. I just hate how hot weather SUCKS power from these cars......
