Default 06-07 service waranty question?

I hit 18k Miles on My 06 Sti , I was wondering... i think my waranty expires on the tranny at 35K ? Some one told me (dealer, friend?) that my Brembo brakes and tires are to be replaced if they are bad with extended waranty that Subie offers if you are under 20K miles. I will call the dealer and check, ifg that is the case why not get new brakes and tires while still under waranty? Info please.

Your drivetrain warranty is 60k miles or 5 years. Usually things like brakes, tries, and clutches are not covered under warranty, especially tires. Occasionally a dealership will be nice and do these things under warranty, but it's rare and I've never heard of the dealer replacing tires under warranty, ever.

You got a little book when you bought your car that explains all about your warranty, what it covers and what it does not. I suggest you read it.

Your tires are not covered under warranty, atleast not by subaru. If you can prove that your tire is defective to Bridgestone, they will cover it under warranty, but that means you have to have a defective tire, and you have to ship it to them, and go through a huge hassle, and take a gamble that they will accept it and send you a replacement.

Stuff likes brakes, clutches, etc.. will not be covered under warranty due to wear, only if they are found to be defective.

even with the extended 6 year 60k warranty? im pretty sure that they cover brakes if they go out in 3 years or 36k, well thats at least what ive been hearing?

I thought that I heard (on this forum) that people were getting their brakes replaced under warranty?? Some might not want to because you would be getting the stock pads, and therefore, still have brake dust issues...

Comments?

If you bought SAS gold extended warranty then it does include tire replacement. However its pro-rated which means you'll probably end up paying at least something. Usually only covers tire repairs and tire replacement if a repair can not be made. normal wear and tear is not covered. Your powertrain is 5 year/60,000 miles from in service date and in service mileage. Items related to engine and transmission are covered. Brake pads are covered by the 3 year/ 30,000 mile warranty but you would need to pay for the rotors to be machined.
