Default Warranty for Second Owner

Hey guys/gals,

I'm the second owner of my 04 Sti and the engine is making a loud whine when the RPM reaches 2,300 and up. It's not the tranny, because it does it even if I'm parked and the car is in neutral. Just touch the gas and rev it slowly and it sounds like a 4x4 truck. But on a truck, I know it's the tranny/differential. The car also runs perfect too.

I've read multiple posts about noise and it seems people are saying take it to a dealer. I think it's not normal, because my friends 05 doesn't sound like this.

I did a compression test and it's 125 125 125 125. I changed the oil to M1 Full Synthetic 10W-30 also. But it was doing it before oil the change also.

Since I'm the second owner. Will it be covered under warranty? The car has 28,200 miles on it and it' Bone Stock period.

I'm worried that oil is just not getting into the head or something.

I'm the second owner of my car and I got warranty work done @ the dealership. Call Subaru of America and explain your situation. They look up when the car was originally purchased and will give you the expiration date on your warranty and a case #. Go to the dealership, tell them you called SOA and they gave you a case #.

Good luck!
