Angry 6-speed junk tranny

I have no idea if anyone else thinks their six speed is made of glass but mine sure is. Around 32,000 miles on the car I took it in to get the 5th gear synchros done, the dealership was great they rebuilt it no questions asked the flywheel and clutch was done under warranty also; super!!! About 6,000 miles later 4th gear starts to grind. I ignored it for a long time plus all my other issues (see my newbie post Hurt STI) the dealership again replaces pretty much all the internals 3rd 4th gear hub and synchros 5th and 6th hub and synchros, hey whatever. They tried upselling me a clutch job but I said no way, I know better, besides it only had 10,000 miles on it and it was done by them in September '06. I drive like a grandma now since the accident I get my baby back w/ all kinds of issues popping out of gear can't really find neutral so this is the third time in less than a year that it coming apart for tranny issues lucky me.

This is definitely strange. Was the car ever in an accident?

Lemon law?

Or can you not make a lemon law claim if you've been involved in an accident?

It's just bizarre to me that you'd be having problems with it. I have no idea what to say, other than BUMP for more opinions/input.

hmm this is very strange indeed. At first, I would've said that it is probably related to the accident, but now that we know it started occurring before then, I honestly have no clue either. Bump.

My guess is the rear-ender somehow hit your rear diff which translated into the tranny.

i'll throw out a guess that when the subaru dealer rebuilt the tranny they might have done a bad job. Sounds like the classic, car comes in with 1 problem, comes out with 3. Maybe try taking it to another dealership?

DINGDINGDING!!!!! Rearendling pushes the driveshaft right into the tranny and borks a lot of stuff. I've seen it happen before, and it was on an STI 6mt too. Sounds like.... read below....

the dealer did a pisspoor rebuild, and inspection of parts to begin with. it was just recently that the dealers started doing the 6mt rebuilds themselves, and your dude may have been asleep in class.

Since you're in NJ, and they used to send the 6mts back to NJ for the rebuild why don't you just call your regional subaru rep. Someone hook him up with that number - I can never remember it.
