IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I have a 2006 STi bone stock (k & n drop in probably doesn't count) the car is on a lease, but I intend to buy it at lease end.I've been reading alot about all the cars on the forum and it seems that the majority are highly modified. I was just wondering if any of you are worried about voiding the warranty? the cars are all basically brand new cars that are modified almost imediately and if anything goes wrong, with the warranty gone all expenses are coming from your own pocket! it makes me really hesitant about modding the car! I'd like to get some feed back. thanks! This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (6) | This has been covered: only Subaru of America can void your warranty. A dealership can deny you service. And to void a warranty, the law states that they have to prove that your modification was a contributing factor to the failure of the part you're trying to get serviced under warranty. Ergo, you putting aftermarket wheels on the car has nothing to do with, say, the AC going out. Read up on the Magnuson Moss stuff. Enlightening to know your rights. As far as modding the car goes, many people (a few have chimed in) buy the car specifically to mod it. If you're worried, don't mod. The car is wonderful stock. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | lol its a very good deed and infact i have an issue that is uprising, i have a small leak out of the return oil line from the turbo that goes down into the block, im on stage 2 from the v2 accessport and i have a turbobacl exhaust. i think that the turbo, in the compressor housing has a small leak aswell around the seal. I get alittle bit of blue smoke when i start the car sometimes but i really dont think its the engine itself. Mainly cuz it runs smooth and im having the oil leak from the turbo.. do you think they would deny me warranty service since its the turbo which is right there next to the Non subaru turboback? |

If it's just a turbo seal, you can probably replace it yourself. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | The VF39 isn't rebuildable so replacing the seals is out. I actually have the same leak. I'm going to try to replace the banjo bolt and washer but if it doesn't stop I'm gonna take the TBE off and take it in to the stealership This ad is not endorsed by this member.
