When I bought my 03 wrx, the dealership actually checked the date the car was bought for the first time and told me how much time I had left on the factory warranty(this was in Austin, TX). But I don't think power steering is part of the drivetrain . Here's a link of the basic warranty for an STi. http://www.subaru.com/owners/warrant....jsp?year=2006 Also, next time you might want to give more details about the situation, like how many miles.Edit: You can take it to another dealer if there's another one close. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (7) | Actually, some powertrain warranties are NOT transferrable (technically, although I've not heard of anyone running into this problem before). I think that the Bumper to Bumpers always are (from what I've seen). Sorry I don't have the literature in front of me...but from that link at least there doesn't seem to be a mention of the powertrain warranty only being good for the original buyer. Edit: In fact, that link states that every owner in the warranty period is entitled to the warranty. Print that and bring it in? Last edited by arkleseizure; 07-03-2007 at 08:10 PM. |
