Default trunk release doesn't work?

One day I went to open my trunk and the release would not open the trunk it was just clicking and wasn't doing anything i checked from the back seat to see if anything was jammed but everything seemed alright any ideas?

See if the lever on the trunk latch is flipped. If it's in the up position, the interior release will not work. Pull the lever down and then try your release.

Ditto that from above.

The inside of the trunk release has a lever that flips up and down. It's covered in the owner's manual. I believe it's the Valet feature where you can keep your trunk key and thus not allow anyone else access to the trunk area.

Change it from its current position and your interior release should begin working again.
