Default 07 STI are maintenance brake pad clutch included?

Hi,

I was at a dealer ship looking at 07 STI, the sales told me that on 07, maintance is included. Brake pad and clutch (one new clutch) is included. Is that true or the sales just BSing me?

Thanks

brade pads replacement is covered under warranty. I have a very hard time a clutch would be covered unless there was a defect in it.

So how about tuneup cost? like BMW, everything is included. It is warranty not free maintenance?

Thanks

Maybe the dealership or salesman is offering it to make a deal. Thats not unheard of.

Unless something has changed in '07, during the warranty period everything is covered -- clutch, brake pads, even windshield wiper blades. Not covered would be regular maintenance activities like oil changes.

will they cover the brake pad/rotors under warrnty if it is from wear and tear? I can burn up a set up rotor and pad easy.

Are you referring to your specific dealer or dealers in general?

Ive had a dealer drive 75 miles to deliver a LX470 and gave us 100% Maintenence for 60 months. We had a dealer give us a rental for 2 weeks and give us 100% maintenence for 48 months on a Tundra.

About the clutch. I'm pretty sure it means that if there's a problem, a defect, they'll fix it. But if he says no matter what they'll change it, then tell him to give it to you in writing and make a copy for him, and you. That's what happened with my friend who recently purchased an 07 WRX. They told him they'd give him a short shifter free and send it to him when it came in (they were out), so he got it in writing, and an official "SUBARU IOU".

This past Friday & Saturday, two of my friend bought two cars, one Acura MDX, and EVO MR. I can only say the experience is less than positive. In the past 5 yrs, I bought 14 cars (some my friends, 4 are mine but I am there with them). Most of them say stuff that are not true. lots of BS. Some know less about the car they are selling than me. Some say BS like it's faster than porsche or amg or M series. Well, I have AMG, my friend has M5, M3, porsche, they are not slower. It got to the point that I want to tell them to shut the fxxx up if you don't know what you are talking about.

I don't recall Lexus is giving all inclusive maintenence like BMW. Mercedes stopped that a couple of years ago. Of course you can get maintenece covered but you are paying extra for it. Anything can bought with a price. you can even make one payment to pay for 3 yrs lease.

I say most not all. If you walk in without any research, they will take advantge of you any way they can. They told my friend that he is losing money on EVO, when in truth, later we found out that other place are selling it for $2200 less and no haggle.

this is why you get everything IN WRITING. if he made a promise before your purchase, make sure you get things in writing so he can't deny it later down the road

Its really how bad do they want the sale. If the dealer treats me like that I wouldntve been back there buying more cars. You can get them to kiss your ass and lick your feet if you wanted to.
