Haha, the dealer just sent me an "updated" service report saying that there is "no problem" and the car works "as specified" by the manufacturer. Mysteriously, this update came after I called SOA and told them about the problem.

Anyone else think Subaru is trying to cover their asses legally? Something is definitely up. Subaru is definitely trying to sweet this under the rug.

Print this out and mail, by registered mail...just like your taxes, to SOA and your dealership's General Manager, Service Manager, and Owner.
This is what my attorney used for my case with GM with my CTS-V....you will very quickly receive a call from SOA and the ball will start rolling then.
Again, if you want more help...PM me and we can talk...

SAMPLE LETTER TO THE MANUFACTURER
GIVING NOTICE OF THE DEALER'S
REFUSAL TO MAKE REPAIRS

CERTIFIED MAIL
RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter pursuant to the New York New Car Lemon Law, General Business Law, section 198-a(b)(2), to notify you that your dealer [insert name] has refused to make repairs to my car within seven days of receiving notice regarding a problem with my car.

My car has the problem(s) described below which has not been repaired. As a result of this problem, the value of the car to me has been substantially impaired.

Problem: __________________________________________________ _____________________

__________________________________________________ __________________________________

__________________________________________________ __________________________________

Unless repairs are commenced within 20 days from the date you receive this notice, under General Business Law, §198-a(b)(2), you will be required to accept return of the car and, at my option, either issue me a full refund of the purchase price or replace it with a comparable car.

I await your prompt reply.

Sincerely,

I have major problems with mine - it wasnt just the throttle... but the whole mass air flow sensor was reading half the amount of air going into the engine... half a bar of boost... its retarted... its been there like 5 times and i have all the paper work....They EVEN REPLACED THE ECU and still did nothing. I really hope if i get another 07 sti it wont do this bs. They promised me 2 weeks if they cant find a fix theyll be forced to replace it.

So you all have had the reflash and it didnt change anything? Weird, my car is 100% perfect, since I had the reflash done.

I just called my dealer in Scottsdale, Arizona. Power Subaru. They said they have heard nothing of a reflash and or cannot perform this. I asked to speak with a shop foreman so hopefully I will hear something from him or her tommarrow. If not, after hearing all of your guy's stories it might not even be worth re-flashing it. I may have to pursue the lemon law on this issue. I work for Chandler Lexus so I have a wide range of knowledge how large comp. like this work things out. It's all about Customer Service so usually they will make it work. By the way I have a 2007 Satin White Sti. It's about 2 months old with 2300. miles. It laggs badd.

Please excuse me for being a skeptic, but I just can't appreciate that they could/would (your dealer or SOA) replace your car witha a brand new one without a serious fight. I certainly hope it is the case, as it would set a precedent for all the other disgruntled owners out there with 07 STI's.

hmmm... how about ive had the car there 8 times for the same problem... twice they flew japanese techs over seas to try to fix it and it would never go out of limp mode... and i threatened to sew SOA. A wasted 4 months on one problem....other than that no problems.

Is there any relationship to wen these cars are made and if they have the hesitation? How do we tell if it is causing damage to the car (knocking)? Tests?

All these problems with the 07 I hope are ironed out for the 08. If Subaru continues then I see alot of loyal customers defecting to other car manufacturers

I bet 08 is even worse. The first year of an all new model=probs. Esp. now that they are now going to be built stateside (see ford, chevy, chrys...), all for a 10 grand mark up over MSRP. No thanks.

That is why I bought this car it was the last yeary of an old model, which should mean no probs. and mark downs. I geuss I was wrong. Maybe i will be wrong about the 08s
