Default New Car Oil Change?

Got a new '06 STi and dealership has to send me the owners manual. They apparently lost it prior to sale.
Do I need to change my oil after the 1000 mile break-in period?

Not entirely necessary, but I would just do it regardless as a precaution/peace of mind.

Are you serious? Every 1k miles. If you are, your just wasting your money. I have seen oil test results (used oil that was tested in a lab) from an STI that had over 5k on its oil and it was still fine to go further. Believe me, I was very surprised too.

There was also another guy with a test sample of his oil. He had an S2000 with a little over 10k miles and they told him he could go another 800m before the oil was all the way bad. .
