IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Ok guys, don't think I'm retarded. I'm wondering exactly what brand/ grade is the gear oil from the facorty since mine is slightly low and it says to definately not mix types. I was at the dealer today and the parts guy and service guy couldn't tell me exactly what I should put in there. Synthetic 75w-90 is all I could come up with, but I don't know for sure or if there is a Subaru brand gear oil or if they use something else. This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | i believe valvoline 75w90 is what they use from the factory. atleast thats what i just put in last week for my 30k service. and you do NOT want to use synthetic in the tranny. you WILL grind gears. too much lubrication is bad in this instance. and for the rear diff, you have to get a special LSD oil from the dealer. its like 18 bucks a liter but all you need is one. |
