Default Had to take my car in for service...

I've never had to send a car in for service until now...I was told I had a leak in my rear differential when I got my springs put on so I wanted them to check it out. Also, the brakes squeak when I go in reverse so im having them take a look at that too. Sucks having to drive around an 06 Silverado instead of an 06 STI...hopefully everything will be under warranty and I can get my car back by Friday.

Alot of people have that "problem" with the brakes, its just a side effect of their design.

yes, brakes shouldn't squeak unless they're bad. i've never seen or had another car that had a similar problem

brakes shouldn't make any more noise than a rubbing sound because of friction. squeaking isn't a normal sound

Our brake squeek is "normal". Mostly prominant when going into reverse or early morning/post washing of the car. I wouldn't be too worried about the brake squeek. We DO drive an STi. Like I have said, as many others have already, this is quite normal for our car. It becomes an issue when everytime you come to a stop your brakes squeek. Good luck with the warrenty work and keep us updated!

i've come to the realization that our cars do this because of a possible design flaw bu brakes in general shouldn't squeak unless they're done or almost done for...or freshly washed/rainy days.

hopefully all goes well.
