I'm contemplating on switching my oil to this German 0w30, but what's so good about it? Doesn't the manual say to use 5w30?

Autozone is the only place to get it. I agree GC FTW!

I've been trying to stock up on it since there've been reports that autozone is selling out thier current stock and aren't going to be restocking it. but i did hear a rumor that they were selling out thier stock so that they can restock with a new bottle/label design. this might be true, since yesterday i was able to find some, but it was a new label, but looked to be the same stuff (still made in germany)

but yeah its good stuff. its a favorite on bobistheoilguy.com and its been working great for me in my car, doesn't burn a drop in 5000 miles.

+1. no burning issues here and improved fuel economy. I had to call 3 autozones in my area to find it. not all of them carry it.

i bought my car used with 14k miles on it and wasnt sure what kind of oil was previously used. Is it to late to switch over to synthetic? The dealer says the cars do fine on regular oil. Should i switch anyways? Car has 22k miles on it now. Seems to run just fine and doesnt burn much oil at all.

Make the switch, I have something like 35 quarts of German castrol (don't look in Evansville IN I bought all of it)

Does anyone else carry it locally or online? How much does this stuff cost? I saw it for $8.** per quart.

Just a heads up i went to my local autozone today and they DID have german castrol. I proceeded to buy every last quart they had. All 14 of them. I talked to them and they told me that only the big autozone stores have them and that the tiny stores wouldnt carry them. Ya and I found it online at Castrol Automotive Oil and Products but its 8.35 a quart. F that. I got it for 6.19 a quart. all 14 for 94 bucks. so if you're still looking for german castrol its out there you just gotta look (except not at the one i just visited)

I went to my two local Autozone's and bought them out. Neither knew whether ther were going to get more in or not. Better safe than sorry.

just went to my local autozone and also bought them out. 14 of them for $6.09 each

The shelf was stacked from front to back. I dont think they are going to discontinue this stuff. seems like everyone is finding it. I think everyones problem is this rumor that its not going to be stocked, so everyone is going and buying it out. lol then when you get there the current stock is out
