Default 2007 Limited: Annoying jerking while cruising

I'm not sure what catagory this falls under so I just decided to post it in the general forum. I have an '07 STI Limited. This may fall under the "Throttle response" problem but I'm not sure. I want to get an idea if this is a common theme accross all STI's or just my model.

Whenever I'm cruising around town in say 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear, the car is jerking. Not crazy jerky, but enough to be annoying. The car is not smooth. I'm lightly resting my foot on the pedal, and the car slows down, then jerks forward, then slows down...

Stuff like this is really annoying me. I love the handing and power of the car, but little things like this bother me.

Ya that tittle is funny. I bet it has something to do with the bad throttle programing in the 07. I suggest getting a Cobb AP and flashing stage 1 for all your 07 programming woes. Then the only jerking you will be doing wont be annoying.

There are numerous threads on nasioc.com, please do a search and get Subaru technical support involved.

Do a search on "2007 sti" or "sti limited" and look for the hesitation and ecu threads on the topic.

Please do what everyone else is doing and call Subaru technical support and get a case # opened for you to goto the dealership and have a test drive done and make sure the tech with you is aware of the problem.

Apparently 1 guy on nasioc.com is having 2 Subaru engineers (one from Houston and the other from NY or NJ fly out to analyze his vehicle for a couple of days.

So Subaru is starting to pick wind of the ECU problems. The tune is the major issue and has been talked about extensively on nasioc.com and I believe on here also, the map(s) have alot of issues to be worked out with the non-linear power delivery all across the RPM range.

I was having the throttle lag prob earlier... that is no longer a problem now that I have 3k miles on the car. I already told the dealership about it and had them test drive it. They had no clue

Well, you are not alone. My ltd #681 does the same exact thing. Only under light load, cruising, more noteable in 1st second gears, but only because of the drive ratio there. I think it is the same prob they are all having and am going to contact the suby dealer sometime. Just frustrates me to deal with mechanics as I am one who used to work at a dealer. I know this thing needs some kind of software update, but dont have the patience to deal with the 38 IQ tech that I always get. I also fear someone else driving my car.

Anyhow, keep tuned here and there will be a fix

ps im at 500 miles, 3 wk old and still no improvement. and mine also runs real good sometimes and not so good others as you will see noted by others too

My 06 does it in first gear if it is really cold out. But it is all in the throttle control for me. If I give it some more gas or the car warms up I dont get it. Also in higher gears and higher than 2000rpm I dont notice it anymore.

You are monitoring this thread as well I assume http://iwsti.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66295

Some, what would seem to be, good news from Tahoe (post #63). We'll see if this 07 ECU USDM map gets some across the board attention soon.
