Default Is there a strut clunk TSB?

I've spent many hours looking up everything on the web on this problem. I am aware that many people have had success with regular re-application of grease, and it is not my purpose to re-hash that whole debate. I brought my car in for the 30k tune up yesterday, and because I've been having the dreaded clunk, I asked the techs to look into it. They have decided to replace both of my rear struts. I mentioned the ongoing thread to tech who worked on my car, who seemed extremely knowledgable and experienced with STi's. He had had no previous experience with this problem despite servicing a number of STI's since they were introduced, and he was unable to locate any TSB or other tracking of this problem by Subaru. Further, I called SOA, and they were also unable to find any mention of this as a common complaint, even after a few hours research.

At various points in the ongoing Strut Clunk Thread (and other threads on the other Subie/Auto sites), I have found the following assertions:

1) There is a TSB for 04-05 STi rear struts.
2) SOA has issued a uniform official policy for dealing with STi rear strut complaints
3) SOA has some sort of strut recall in the works, which will take effect when they have a replacement that definitevely solves the problem.
4) SOA has already updated the strut, and new struts MFD'd since XX/XX/XX or struts that are the color XXXXXX will not have this problem.

Does anyone have any CONCRETE evidence (no rumor or hearsay) that ANY of the above assertions are more than rumor? Right now, I am scheduled to have my struts replaced under warantee, but after reading everything out there I am curious as to who has FIRST HAND information on the bigger STi strut picture. I would be particularly interested if any Subaru techs could chime in. If there IS a TSB, I would love to know its number, or any other reference number used to track the problem. I'll happily suck it up and lube my struts periodically if that's what it takes, but if there is a more permanent fix out there (short of coilovers) I'd love to know.

Thank you for your time.
