Default A/C problems

I have an 04 with about 39k miles. My a/c has started blowing hot air and I wondered if this has happened to anyone else. Can charging the system fix my problem or could it be a part. My nearest dealer is over 200 mi away. Please help!

Could be a refrigerant leak and need recharged, could be the compressor is not turning on (which could be compressor clutch).

It has slowly gotten worse over the past weeks and now it's just blowing hot air. The light in the dash comes on in auto and manual modes and I can feel the car pull down when it kicks in. Can I charge it on my own? Does anyone know where I can get a maintanence manual for an 04?
