Jack and some jack stands or ramps which ever one you have handy. An oil wrench, funnel, socket set, and some rags.

If you go to Subaru and buy a new oil filter through them you'll also get some new crush gaskets for the drain plug.

Jack, jack stands, a rachet with sockets to take the bolts off the plastic cover, I think a flat head to take the plastic clips.....Possibley a oil filter tool to unscrew it....but usually by hand works. An oil filter, and a crush ring, and oil and your set!

Jack, jackstands, oil filter, crush washer (or Fumoto valve), something to collect oil in (Rev helped me with my last change, he had this nifty oil catcher/container).

Wow like 3 of the same reply. Sweet.

Thanks guys, I know about the tools I need lol Im not a newb that much lol but i was just curious about jacks/jackstands/ramps.

A 4 ton jack is definitely enough right? Along with 4 ton jack stands. I was thinking about ramps, but I need to find some "low" ramps.

Yah your good to go......just make sure everything is tight on there....and as always, check around the car underneath, and in the engine area underneath....for any leaks, remains of liquids...this way, when you change the oil again next time, you can remember if you had a leak somewhere, and fixed it or what not, you know what to look for. Plus its always good to check everything just to make sure. I am a very cautious person, so thats just instinct for me lol.

Those valves are sweet! I'm definitely doing my oil changes from now on. I needed one in a rush a few weeks ago cuz I had burned through most of my oil (120+ for a couple hours did the trick) and was going out of town and the hick at jiffy lube didn't even know what kind of car it was, not even that it was an impreza.

i'm on jdm pinks and have been able to do the oil changes without ramps or stands. there's enough room to do it with the car on the ground if you're lazy like me
