Default 4th gear grinding

Lately when I shift into 4th at high rpms I am grinding alittle. So I am assuming my sychro is on its way out. Do you guys think with the mods I have and only 26000 miles, Subaru will warrenty it. If not what do you think its giong to cost me.

What mods? I don't think the dealership will dare to blame the tranny grinding to the turboback. Just don't tell them that you have EM and load the stock realtime map to the ECU. Take it to the dealer and have faith.

When I am under hard acceleration shifting into 4th gear i feel a lil resistance when i shift into 4th, doesnt make a grinding sound but it feels like theres resistance and a small vibration shifting into 4th. Is that like a partial grind?

I would put the stock downpipe back on just to be safe. Mine has gone away though when I shift at redline I just shift a tad bit slower and more smoothly. Seemed to work for me.

I still think it will be a problem in the future though.

Would they cover it if I have a short shifter + bushings installed? I'm guessing no...

My 5th gear syncros went out and the dealership replaced it under warrenty even though I was stage2. They said they would open it up and check for abuse...they did and covered it. 4th and 5th gear syncros going out on on on 04/05 STi's are quite common place.

Usually syncros go out on 1st or 2nd gears...not top end gears.
