Default What do you think of this price for 15,000 service?

I sent an email to my dealer for my 05 STi - the 15,000 mile is due. I asked them to quote without oil change, because I just switched to Mobil 1 about 500 miles ago... Here is the quote:

"The price for a 15000 mile service without oil change is $223.56 plus tax. If you have any questions, please call me. Thank you."

Think this is a little high?

My 15k service (with oil change) was $170. But it would've been $250 if I hadn't declined their $80 cabin air filter replacement.

Just do the service yourself. It isn't terribly difficult.

My dealer included it with the oil change...I didn't have to really pay for service till 30K.

Sorry a little off topic....
I am going in for my 7500 service. Should I just get the oil change? Or do brake inspection as well? I just got new tires so I shouldn't rotate them. But how many of you here just get the oil change only? Again sorry for going off topic.

And to answer your question. Yes that seems a bit too high.

RTM if you want to know what's done at certain service intervals. It's all in there.

Just remember, if you do it yourself, save all receipts so they can't deny your warranty for not doing required service.

just do it yourself. the service intervals don't get that complex.

save receipts.

i haven't gone in yet for service with 8.5k on the car. had my oil changed at 4k, got winter tires around 3k, and have been monitoring the oil every 500 miles. having looked at the service for 7.5k, i can't say i haven't done any of it. my biggest trouble with the car is that i've modded it and am unsure of how the dealership will react to the mods if i were to bring it in. i don't want my entire warranty voided, and i know the legalese of what they can deny and what they can't. i would just rather not have to deal with it.

Umm, I'm thinking you should have a few oil change's under your belt by now.

Like Klaymon said, read the owner's manual. It's all in there. Nothing major is done, at least nothing worth a couple hundred dollars. An oil change is probably the biggest part of it.
