Default How reliable has your STi been?

Just curious how reliable the STi has been for other people. I have had my car for 1 year and 3 months, and have not had any warranty issues.

Has anyone had stuff replaced other than the rear struts - stuff like alternators, power window motors, etc...stuff that normally goes on a VW

Just curious how reliable these cars have been for others.

Mine's been perfect for 7.2k miles. I think my right rear is startign to squeak though.

Oh, and my 2002 WRX was perfect for 52k.

No problems besides the rear strut clunk which the dealer continues to blame on my TBE.

25k miles on the car since november of last year.

Mine overall is doing fine, only problems is my rear view mirror (homelink/compass one) rattles a TON, like all the time, my rear glass rattles by it (either the headliner to glass contacting or the back of the back seats the piece behind them to the glass... im not sure. Then a little piece of gasket sealant from the rear spoiler is poking out of the left drain. Oh yeah and my turn signal about 50% of the time squeaks (sounds like a kitten) so yeah. But none of this is major and I love this car regardless!

This monday I finally go to the dealer to get all this taken care of!

The STi's harsh suspension is most likely the source of the rattles. I guess it's the nature of the beast so to speak.

The rattle's never bothered me. I guess you get used to them when one of the other cars u used to have was a 90 mustang GT convertible with Saleen Racecraft suspension (i would hit a pebble and feel it).

I have 37K on mine and everthing is good to go no problems.

I had a radiator split a seam and had an overly sensitve switch at the base of the shifter for the cruise. That's it. In May06 my car will be 3 yrs old, was built 03/03. 84,000kms.
I have the STi short shifter and my tranny feels silky smooth, actually feels better than when it was new now, that it's broken in.

wow, i love the fact that you guys have no problems with your tranny. on evoM the guys are always talking about their tranny/clutch messing up on them as if it was a normal thing lol. i'm now leaning towards subaru more, can't wait to see what 07 has in store for me.

No real reliability problems. I"ve found a random bolt on my undertray. Never determined where it came from. The bolts on my seat where extremely loose. One was half out, the other could easily be turned by hand.

I've had the rubber seal tear on the windows.

Rear diff clunk and rear strut clunk. I had the rear struts replaced under warranty, but the clunk/squeak is coming back.

32K miles on it.
