Default Broken Engine mounts!

Hey guy's I am new here and have just purchased a 2006 STi about a month ago. The past few weeks I have been hearing this strange clunking noise, so I brought it to my local Subaru dealership (which is not the dealership where I bought it). First they told me there was nothing wrong. A week later I brought it back out and they told me it was the pitching arm which had snapped, they fixed it and told me it was not covered under warranty and that it was due to a previous accident...THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT!. I paid the 149.71 dollar bill and as soon as I drove off i heard the same noise again. I had a friend look at it and he said he thinks the driverside motor mount has broken and pointed out that my oil cap is coming in contact with my hood somehow, it has the hood dented from underneath! and the underhood insulater is all tore up. It seems pretty obvious to me that it must be a motor mount which also caused the pitching arm to break, the local dealership is being a pain and trying to blame it on other things, should this be covered under warranty!? thanks for any info.

I am very sorry to hear about your problems. I would recommend taking the car to the dealership that you bought it and talking it over with them. You should also write a letter to SOA about the issue you had at the dealership and that you want the money that you paid. That is BS. It is covered. Good luck!

Please name the dealerships you've visited. The broken part is covered under warranty, unless you put 36000 miles on in the last month.

same thing happened to my 06. broke pitch stop and both motor mounts. should be covered under warranty, but they will put the same plastic ones back in which will probably break again. then they will say you abused the car or something. the dealership replaced mine and the under hood insulation where the oil cap rubbed, and the black vent thing under the scoop which also got dented. i hope subaru does a recall on the mounts, cuz i hate driving around worrying that they will break again.

I believe that should be covered because a covered part did the damage, I would tell Tony Lawrence, owner I believe, as well as SOA of America, I've been happy with Cumberland Valley Motors

Thanks everyone, I will find out monday what they are going to do for me...it just really makes me angry that they are making up excuses like the car must have been wrecked just to get themselves out of fixing it, they told me that they have never seen or heard of anything like this happening on its own!! I will be printing this out and taking it along for proof!

Yea I have seen a few threads on this topic now. Sorry to hear about your luck man, your dealship sounds like a bunch of asses. I went ahead and just ordered the JLM aluminum pitch mount. I definatley don't want to be denting up my hood, and I sure as hell won't be taking my car to the dealership.

EDIT: Hey I just noticed you are from Hanover, PA. My good friend just moved up there about a year ago and i'm up there all the time. He lives off Oneil Ave. You ever go to Eisenhower? I know it's full with 16 year old idiots who think their Honda is the fastest thing on earth, but every once in a while it can be enjoyable. Just the other week me and my friend drove through and I caught a run with a b16 turbo, a mitsu turbo, and a cobra. Anyways, if you see a OBP 06 rolling around be sure to honk!

Hey rzezeski I don't frequently run on eisenhower but every now and then I will go out and see who all is out, as alot of people I know do go out there. It used to be really cool to go out there and just hang with your friends and talk about cars and do a few laps but know its gotten to the point where it is ridiculous like you said...a bunch of 16 year olds with pathetic cars who don't know how to drive, just last night I made a trip to walmart and a girl in a silver civic was turning into the bank to do the turn around and got t-boned pretty badly by another girl. Its almost too dangerous to even bother going out anymore.
