Default Any warranty issues with aftermarket clutches?

Hey guys some of you know I'm very close to buying a WRX, however, there's ONE freakin issue that needs to be addressed. When my mechanic checked it out, he noticed some signs that the tranny had been removed (loose crossmember and a silicone sealant on one of the plugs. When I called the 2nd owner, he was able to get in touch with the OG owner and was told at about 8500 miles the clutch was replaced with a stonger clutch to handle the stage 3 power. The car runs fine, and even my mech. said it shifts smoothly and the clutch and tranny are in good condition.

My dad's concerned the aftermarket clutch will void the warranty on the tranny if anything happens. Has anyone had problems with Subaru not honoring the warranty based on an aftermarket clutch?

Thanks!

I do believe it will void the warranty if you have a clutch problem. Remember, the law states that if a piece of aftermarket part was the problem for the issue, then the warrenty is void. i.e. Intake sucked up water...Oops..

But if your clutch is aftermarket and then your rear strut blows out, then your fine.

I read through the sticky, and I'm still kinda unclear. I'm just concerned about the tranny. The clutch isn't an issue, as that's something I could probably do myself in a day or so, but I'm not quite qualified to open up a transmission.

Well.....if SOA is giving people a hard time w/ tranny claims when they only have an exhaust/intake/ECU (or any combo), I can only assume that an aftermarket clutch would have the alarm bells ringing overtime.
