The dealership can NOT deny warranty work on your car. ONLY SOA can. Go back and tell them that you want to hear it from the SOA rep and don't leave until you get a response.

BTW Irvine Subaru sucks

My IC to TB hose also broke and my car has the stock turbo and IC... what happens is under repeated use, the stock clamps "dig" into the rubber and eventually cause it to fail... I replaced it with a generic black silicone hose and all is fine for now... I have my FMIC in my garage waiting to be installed and that comes with a different hose anyways...

my local dealer pulled something similar many years ago on another issue regarding a check engine light... they wanted to charge me 1 hour inspection fee as well... I told them to eat sh$t and haven't been back since... also had a similar experience with a 2nd dealer... I now deal with a different dealer, but there are only 4 here... I'm down to my last 2... ... apparently, the last one if my current dealer pisses me off is the best out of the 4... so I guess I'm saving the best for last

Default SOA refusal to warranty ECU

I had a problem with an ECU. When I took my 2006 STI to have a flash done it would not respond to the programmer and was only making 8.3 pounds of boost. The tuner would not touch it because he said I had a warranty issue that I should get taken care of before any mods. Subaru of America said that this was within their specs and would not replace it.(8.3 pounds is not what I paid for!) My car was 100% stock. I fought for a while then the dealership helped me work around the situation to my satisfaction. I would hate to be the poor sucker to purchase the STI that has my factory defective ECU but at least it isn't me with a crap performing brand spankin new $32,000 car that the company will not stand behind any more!!!

I would expect the dealer not to know how much boost a stock STi makes, but SOA doesn't know either? (8.3 psi is way low)

Crazy....

Absolutely absurd to hear from a dealer. Your boost gauge has NOTHING to do with this hose. Contact another dealer.

You sure? My 05 was built in February of 04 and the I/C hose has the little lip.

Could be a CDN to USDM difference at that time?

Dead threads over say 3 months should be locked so no new postings can happen. It seems all the newbies have to get their words in on old threads.
