Default Factory Warranty still apply?

I am looking into picking up an 04 STi very soon. It was a factory demo and had 1800 miles on it. I checked with Warranty Direct (if i chose to go with an extended) to see if they considered the vehicle new or used because it has never had an actual owner. They said it is still considered a new vehicle.

My question is will the factory warranty start when i buy it or has it already?

If i have 3 years of warranty to start with i pick up an extended after i get my raise in June. Thanks

The 3 years starts when the dealership gets the vehicle if I remember correctly. It would definately not just start right now, but that's what the extended warranty from Warranty Direct is for, right? And check to see what Warranty Direct says about modifying your car because it is going to be very hard for you to keep it stock if you visit these forums.

If it was a demo they usually put it into "service" which means the warranty is active. They will have to disclose that to you before you sign on the dotted line.

only mods i am looking into are Tanabe GF210 and perhaps some rims in the future. 300 HP is more than enough for me. I will find out for sure though.

I emailed to dealer to see what they have to say about it and go from there

UPDATE:

I contacted the dealer I am interested in purchasing from and they said that the factory warranty goes into effect under two circumstances:

1.) As soon as someone purchases the vehicle if the vehicle is still new

2.) The vehicle was new to start with but has become a program or factory demo. As soon as its status becomes "program" or "factory demo"

so basically what tcam33 said...
