Default Cyl # 3 misfire over and over again nothing fixed

I have on 04 sti no racing or modifactions to the engine. In the begining of November my check engine light came on along with major hessitation. I took it to my local subaru dealership and all they did was clear the code which was a cyl #3 misfire, so i thought maybe bad gas so i put in water remover, and octane booster. A day or so later the car acted up again and so came the check engine light and another trip back to the dealer. They ran the code and once again cyl 3 misfire came up so they switched the coil packs on #3 and #1 and sent it back to me. Once again the car acted up so i took it back again and once again cyl 3 misfire, so they ordered a new injector in after a week of waiting for the part and gave it back to me on monday i made it like 15-20 miles and the car acted up again!!!! I called and set up an appointment for today (fri nov 25) and told them i need a loaner car ( which i didn't ask for the previous 3 times). They call me back a few hours later and want to charge me $100 for some injector flush, which i told them no i would not pay esp since they just replaced and injector on the cly that misfired so what good would the flush that i would have to pay for do!! They ended up giving me the flush for free but could not do it for a week so they want me to pick up my poor running STI and return the loaner car and bring it back in a week. I told the GM ( b/c i told the service lady how i was getting tired of bring in the car and nothing changing) it was crazy for me to pick up the car that does not run good at all and is getting worse and i need a working car ( which i reallly don't since i have my 92 subaru svx i could drive) , he went thru this whole spill about how they are losing money and since i didn't buy it from them the loaner i got was an act of good faith they will not reimburst for me using it. So now i am getting tired of my dealership and them not fixing the problem and now giving me **** about how it is not their problem and all.
I thought a subaru dealership is a subaru dealership and should work and fix a subaru made car no matter where the car was purchased and if it doesn't work right the owner should get a car to drive while the car is in service!!
Any ideas of 1. what would cause the misfire b/c they have no idea
2. What are my options i bought the sti may 8th 04
3. How i can get ahold of my regional subaru rep and maybe they can fix this situation.
Thank you for any help or ideas b/c my family has 5 subarus and this ordeal is really starting to piss me off.

look into the VA Lemon Law and make sure you have all the documentation from the failed trips to the dealer.

start by calling 1-800-Subaru3 and explaining your situation. That is the customer service number that is setup for this type situation.

Good luck.

they only gave me a copy of the first visit and i asked for paper work on the other visits but they told me no need since i am not being charged. They did show me however their copy that had dates and work done and next week i will prob demand to have a copy of that. As for lemon law in Va it is within 18 months of purchase and it can be extended another 12 i think if the problem started and went to the dealer before the 18 month period was up so i barely fit. Besides that i do not know that much but will prob ask around my work to see what other people may know.
Thanks for the subaru # but i can not call them till monday and i was thinking that would be my next step, since i have lost total faith in my local dealer. This dealer is so bad i never bought a car from them since they wouldn't even let a normal sales person talk to me when i was looking at an STI i would have had to talk to the manager and then they had it marked up to $37,000 (i think it was). Right now they have the spec b legacy for like $39,000 which i think is crazy. When i went in i thought maybe their service would be good or atleast decent, and the other subaru dealer is like 40 miles away and the sti was not driving too good. Guess i was wrong and am now paying the price since my STI is my winter car and i have yet to put my winter tires on it and i have the jdm fog lights coming.

i Bet if they did a compression test they would find out that a ring or two are on there way to being gone. I learned that the hard way.

You're really getting jerked around here. ANY dealer should repair your car. They're NOT losing money by providing you with a loaner vehicle. If your car is under warranty, SoA is footing the bill for the loaner, because when your car is under warranty, SoA is paying the dealership for doing work on your car. It has nothing to do with you. That's what their warranty is all about, and that's how it works. You take your car to any dealer, and SoA pays that dealer for the work. Ergo, you get charged nothing.

yeah they finally fixed my car after they pulled the head and replaced the seals, springs, gaskets and such and it has been hmmm 2 weeks i thi=nk since i got my car back and no problems so far. But the kinda thing that still pisses me off is i NEVER got a call back from SOA after i called that 1800 subaru3 number back in November. Also not even a letter stating i called and reported my situation what type of customer service is that? I am a subaru car lover so i will prob just deal with it since my car is back to me, but it makes me think if they do not call back someone who purchased and STI what about someone who bought a base model car or if they just do not get back with you if you bought the most expensive one... Oh well i am just happy to have my car back and thankful i never did any mods.

I guess there isnt much we can say on Subaru's behalf, but you did the right thing. I'm sorry it happened, we have a member over on my site that had a similar misfire issue. Glad the car is back thought, and at least its running smoothly though.
