Well, I went to the dealer today b/c the Subaru Canada rep was there to take a look at my windshield. He takes five seconds to look at it and says: "yeah, I've seen this a few times before, it was caused by the heat sheild. We'll definitely cover it". Well, that was awesome (and easy). Next up was the strut clunk. My STI has Eibach Prolines and hardened strut mount so I brought up the subjects a little cautiously. I told them what was happening (clunking at low speeds) and that I just wanted them to take it for a drive and see if it was the struts for sure. I wasn't really expecting them to do anything. I told them all I wanted to know is if it was the struts, I don't expect them to be replaced, I just want to make sure it won't affect the drivability of my car at all. So, 5 minutes later the guy comes up to me and says "Yeah, this is really an ongoing problem with the STI's and Subaru Canada knows all about it. We've ordered you a set of rear struts for your car, all under warranty". Not even one word about my aftermarket springs. I was really surprised! The dealership was Barrie Subaru (Barrie, Ontario). They're really great guys there. Totally friendly and they don't seem to care about mods at all! I'd definitely reccomend this dealership to anyone in this area!
